The UFC 172 Preliminary Card on Fox Sports 1 took place this past Saturday and featured Joseph Benavidez submitting Tim Elliott in the first round with a guillotine choke.
According to Nielsen sources, the UFC 172 preliminary overnight viewership number for the preliminary card landed at 750,000 total viewers. When it came to the demographic numbers, the show had a .53 in Persons 18-49, .79 Men 18-49, and .57 Men 18-34.
This is the third UFC pay-per-view preliminary card to air on Fox Sports 1 in 2014 and the average viewership for these cards are 873,000. Last month’s UFC 171 prelims aired on Fox Sports 2 and that show had 305,000 total viewers.
The average viewership for UFC fight cards in 2014 on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 is now 622,000. While this was the lowest pay-per-view preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 in 2014, it should be noted that it went up against playoff games in the NBA and NHL.
