With Alexander Yakovlev being moved to another card, Yan Cabral needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 40 on May 10th and the UFC has announced he will now face Ultimate Fighter 17 alum Zak Cummings.UFC Fight Night 40

The new fight booking was announced by the UFC on Thursday.

UFC Fight Night 40 takes place from the U.S. Bank Arena on May 10th and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Matt Brown meets Erick Silva.

Cummings (16-3) won his UFC debut last year after being on The Ultimate Fighter 17 as he defeated Ben Alloway by submission at UFC Fight Night 28. He was scheduled to face Alberto Mina last month in China, but the fight was pulled from the card on weigh-in day after he was eight pounds overweight and Mina would not accept a catchweight bout.

Cabral  (11-0) signed with the UFC last year and won his debut by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 29 against David Mitchell. It was the first time in his career that he went to a decision as his previous ten wins came by submission.
