Bjorn Rebney confirms the light heavyweight tournament that begins tonight is a 8-man tournament

The next Bellator light heavyweight tournament will begin tonight at Bellator 118 as Liam McGeary will meet Mike Mucitelli in the opening fight of the main card broadcast on Spike TV. Liam McGeary

While the other opening round bouts have not been announced, Bellator MMA Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed to TheMMAReport.com that this will be a 8-man tournament.

Rebney stated the the other three opening round fights will be announced shortly by the organization and they will take place on June 6th at Bellator 121, which is the first event in the 2014 Summer Series.

This tournament marks the fifth in Bellator’s history and is the first 8-man tournament since season eight last year. The previous two tournaments have been 4-man tournaments and the season ten tournament final will take place in two weeks as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson meets former tournament winner Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.

Who could end up being the other six fighters in this tournament. While this is just speculation, the fighters that could end up being in this tournament are Attila Vegh, Mikhail Zayats, Christian M’Pumbu, Joey Beltran, Egidijus Valavicius, and Linton Vassell.
