Patricky Pitbull injured, tournament final delay; Shamhalaev-Guerreiro added to Bellator 120 prelims

A hand injury to Patricky Pitbull has delayed his lightweight tournament final against Marcin Held and replacing this fight on next week’s Bellator 120 preliminary card will be a featherweight bout between Shahbulat Shamhalaev and Fabricio Guerreiro.Patricky Pitbull

Bellator announced the changes on Friday afternoon. TheMMAReport.com has learned that Pitbull’s hand injury is not a broken hand and is expected to need thirty days to recover.

“It’s unfortunate to lose a fight like Patricky vs. Held on May 17th, but we were able to reschedule the Shahbulat-Fabricio fight which will be a great fight,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “Patricky will take some time to heal and then we’ll look to re-schedule his Tournament Championship fight with Marcin, who is one of the top young rising stars in our sport.”

Shamhalaev and Guerreiro were initially scheduled to meet at tonight’s Bellator 119, but passport issues with Guerreiro forced the fight to be scratched from the event. They will now meet on the televised portion of the Bellator 120 prelims next Saturday night and are scheduled to be the second fight on the Spike TV prelims.
