Sam Oropeza out of welterweight tournament after missing weight; Andrey Koreshkov now meets Justin Baesman for spot in final

The co-main event of tonight’s Bellator 118 is the second semifinal fight in the season ten welterweight tournament and Sam Oropeza has been pulled from the tournament after missing weight. Bellator 118

With Oropeza missing weight, Bellator has announced that Justin Baesman will take his place in the tournament and face Andrey Koreshkov tonight.

Bellator 118 will come from the Ovation Hall inside the Revel Casino tonight and will be headlined by an interim bantamweight title fight as Joe Warren looks to claim the title when he faces Rafael Silva.

Baesman (14-4-1) made his Bellator debut last year during the season nine tournament and was submitted in the opening round by Brent Weedman. His last appearance in Bellator came at the beginning of last month when he battled to a majority draw against Herman Terrado.

After the fight, it was learned that Terrado tested positive for a banned substance and Terrado has been placed on temporary suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The winner of the fight between Koreshkov and Baesman will advance to the tournament final and face Adam McDonough, who advance to the final last month when he defeated Nathan Coy by knockout. Bellator has not announced when the tournament final will take place, but that fight will likely happen during the Summer Series.
