Earlier this week, it was revealed that Mark Munoz’s contract with the UFC had expired following his defeat at UFC Fight Night 41 against Gegard Mousasi and he was removed from the official UFC rankings.
At that time, the UFC told TheMMAReport.com that the organization was working on a new contract for Munoz and today, the middleweight fighter agreed to a new four fight deal with the UFC.
Munoz (13-5) has dropped back to back fights and three of his last four. All three of those defeats have come in main events and his last two defeats have come by stoppage in the first round.
During his fight with Mousasi, Munoz did suffer a knee injury where he torn his MCL and sprained his ACL. A timetable for his potential return to action has not been determined at this time.
