A bantamweight bout is slated for next month’s UFC 175 in Las Vegas as Rob Font will make his UFC debut against George Roop.
While the fight booking has not been officially announced by the UFC, the fight was announced by Font’s management team.
UFC 175 will come from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on July 5th and will be headlined by a title fight as Chris Weidman defends the UFC middleweight title against former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
Font (10-1) comes to the UFC after being the CES featherweight champion and is dropping down to the bantamweight division. He is currently on a nine fight winning streak and his most recent win came in April as he defeated Tristan Johnson by knockout in the first round.
Roop (15-10-1) is coming off a decision win at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale against Dustin Kimura in April and he has won three of his four fights since returning to the bantamweight divison. His only defeat since returning to bantamweight came in November of last year as he was defeated by Francisco Rivera.
