UFC Fight Night 42 took place on Saturday night at the Tingley Coliseum in Albquerque, New Mexico and the fight night bonuses went to Benson Henderson, Piotr Hallmann, Scott Jorgensen, and Danny Martinez.
The bonuses were announced by UFC Senior Director of Communications Dave Sholler at the post fight press conference and each bonus is $50,000.
Henderson won one of the two performance of the night bonuses for his fourth round submission victory over Rustam Khabilov in the main event of the fight card. Henderson dropped Khabilov with a right hand and finished the fight with a rear-naked choke. This is the first stoppage victory for Henderson in the UFC and his last stoppage victory came in 2010 in the WEC.
The other performance of the night bonus went to Hallmann, who submitted Yves Edwards in the third round in their lightweight bout. Hallmann was up on the judges scorecards heading into the final round and was able to get on the back of Edwards and secure the rear-naked choke victory. Both of his wins in the UFC have come by submission and he has won a fight night bonus in both of these fights.
The fight of the night went to Jorgensen and Martinez for their flyweight bout on the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1. Jorgensen was able to use his takedowns to secure a decision victory, but Martinez was able to land big punches in the second round, which nearly scored him the victory. The victory for Jorgensen snaps a three fight losing streak and Martinez has now dropped both of his fights in the UFC.
