The UFC will be heading to Bangor, Maine on August 16th for UFC Fight Night 47 and the first two fights on the fight card have been revealed as Tim Boestch meets Brad Tavares in a middleweight bout and Shawn Jordan faces Jack May in a heavyweight bout.
Both fight bookings were initially reported by The Bangor Daily News and the UFC confirmed the report.
UFC Fight Night 47 will come from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor and more details on the event will be announced shortly.
Boetsch (17-7) initially entered the UFC as a light heavyweight, but dropped down to the middleweight division in 2011 and won his first four bouts in the 185 pound division. Since that run, he has dropped three of four and his last defeat came in April against Luke Rockhold. Tavares (12-2) entered the UFC through The Ultimate Fighter and has won seven of his nine fights in the promotion. In his last appearance, he had his five fight winning streak snapped as he lost a decision to Yoel Romero.
Jordan (15-6) has dropped back to back fights and both of those defeats came in the first round. His last victory came at UFC 161 last year as he won the knockout of the night against Pat Barry. May (7-1) made his UFC debut in April and was defeated by Derrick Lewis in the first round. It was his seventh professional fight to end in the first round and six of his seven wins have come by TKO/KO.
