Following his win last month, Charles Oliveira stated that he wanted a rematch with Nik Lentz and the UFC has granted him his request as he will meet Lentz at UFC Fight Night 50 on September 5th in Connecticut.
UFC officials announced the fight booking earlier this week.
UFC Fight Night 50 will come from the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut on September 5th and will be headlined by a middleweight bout as Gegard Mousasi meets Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Oliveira (18-4, 1NC) has won back to back fights and four of his six fights since dropping down to the featherweight division. His first meeting with Lentz came in 2011 and he originally won by submission. However, the fight was overturned to a no-contest due to an illegal knee.
Lentz (25-6-2, 1NC) is coming off a win in May against Manny Gamburyan and he has won four of his five fights since dropping down to the featherweight division. His last three wins have come by decision and his only stoppage victory as a featherweight came at UFC 150 against Eiji Mitsuoka.
