ONE Fighting Championships will be heading to Dubai on August 29th for ONE FC 19 and the fight card will feature four title fights including Nobutatsu Suzuki defending the welterweight title against Ben Askren and lightweight champion Shinya Aoki defending against Kamal Shalorus.
The event and both fight bookings were announced on Thursday by ONE FC on Twitter.
ONE FC 19 will come from the Dubai World Trade Centre on August 29th and the other two title fights on the card have not been announced at this time.
Suzuki (11-1-2) won the ONE FC welterweight title earlier this year as he defeated Brock Larson by unanimous decision in March. It was his second straight victory and both of those wins have come in ONE FC. Askren (13-0) made his ONE FC debut at the end of May and defeated Bakhityar Abbasov by submission in the first round. It was his third straight victory to come by stoppage and it was his first submission win since 2010.
Aoki (35-6, 1NC) became the ONE FC lightweight champion last year when he defeated Kotetsu Boku by submission in the second round. This will be his first title defense and he is coming off a submission win at the end of 2013 in a fight outside of ONE FC. Shalrous (9-3-2) has won back to back fights in ONE FC after being released by the UFC. Both of those wins have come by decision an his most recent win came in March against Ariel Sexton.
