The fight booking was officially announced by UFC President Dana White on a special edition of UFC Tonight last night in Las Vegas.

Dillashaw (10-2) dominated Barao to win the UFC title back in May and won the fight in the fifth round with a TKO. It was the second straight win for Dillashaw and he won the fight of the night and performance of the night bonus.

The defeat for Barao (32-2, 1NC) snapped a 32 fight unbeaten streak with his last defeat coming in his pro debut  in 2005. The title defense against Dillashaw was his fourth interim/unified title defense and White hinted since the first fight ended that an immediate rematch was possible.

UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Barao II will come from the Sleep Train Arena and tickets for the event will go on sale July 18th for the pay-per-view card.
