UFC Fight Night 44 took place on Saturday night at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas and was headlined by Cub Swanson winning his sixth straight fight with a decision win over Jeremy Stephens.
According to Nielson sources, the main card had 702,000 viewers in the preliminary ratings and this is down 42 percent from last months UFC Fight Night 42, which also aired on a Saturday night.
When it comes to the demographic numbers, UFC Fight Night 44 main card drew a .49 in Persons 18-49, .73 in Males 18-49, and .69 in Males 18-34.
When it came to the peak viewership of the broadcast, it took place during the first hour of the main card broadcast (10:45-11:00 p.m. ET) with 852,000 viewers.
The preliminary card also aired on Fox Sports 1 and had 500,000 viewers in the preliminary ratings. While the preliminary card ratings were down from the 812,000 viewers for UFC Fight Night 42 on June 7th, the 500,000 viewers for UFC Fight Night 44 is 17 percent above the average of Fox Sports 1 Fight Night Prelims to date (428,000).
On Saturday night (8p-2a ET), Fox Sports 1 was the most-watched ad-supported cable sports network on Saturday night from 8pm-2am ET, averaging 590,000 viewers thanks to the UFC Fight Night Prelims, the UFC Fight Night main card and FOX Sports Live.
With the viewership from Saturday, the average viewership for a Fight Night/TUF Finale main card on Fox Sports 1 in 2014 is now at 848,000 and the Saturday night average for a Fight Night/TUF Finale main card on Fox Sports 1 is nearly 796,000. Since the UFC Fight Night cards began airing on Fox Sports 1 last year, the average viewership for these events has been 846,000.
