Jon Jones injured, title fight against Daniel Cormier delayed until January

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones suffered a leg injury in training and his title fight against Daniel Cormier scheduled for UFC 178 on September 27th has been delayed to UFC 182 on January 3, 2015. UFC 178 Small

The injury and new date for the fight was announced on Fox Sports 1 on Tuesday.

With Jones/Cormier being postponed, UFC 178 will now be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title against Chris Cariaso. Johnson and Cariaso were initially scheduled to meet in the co-main event of UFC 177 on August 30th. A new co-main event is expected to be announced shortly by the UFC.

Due to the UFC 178 main event change, refunds for the September 27 card will be given upon request at point of sale only and the deadline for refunds will be August 22.

Tickets for UFC 178: Johnson vs. Cariaso are on sale now and priced at $800, $600, $400, $250, $125 and $75 (prices do not include applicable service charges). Tickets are available for purchase online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at (800) 745-3000 and will be available at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person.
