A flyweight bout has been added to UFC Fight Night 57 on November 22nd in Austin, Texas as former title challenger Joseph Benavidez will meet Dustin Ortiz in a bout expected to take place on the main card.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Tuesday afternoon and they also announced that due to an injury, the UFC Fight Night 54 bout between Paige VanZant and Kailin Young has been moved to this event.
UFC Fight Night 57 will come from the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas on November 22nd and the event will air live on Fox Sports 1.
Benavidez (20-4) is coming off a win against Tim Elliott at UFC 172 and he won a performance of the night bonus for the submission victory. Since dropping down to flyweight, he has gone 5-2 and both of the defeats have come against current flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.
Ortiz (14-3) has won three of his four fights in the UFC and this will be his fourth fight in 2014. After losing in January to John Moraga, he has won back to back fights and his most recent victory came in July as he defeated Justin Scoggins by split decision at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale.
