The main event of UFC Fight Night 57 was announced at the beginning of Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight as Cub Swanson will meet Frankie Edgar in a featherweight bout.
In addition to the main event being set, the co-main event was also announced as Bobby Green faces Edson Barboza in a battle of top fifteen UFC lightweights.
UFC Fight Night 57 will come from the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas on November 22nd and the event will air live on Fox Sports 1.
Swanson (21-5) is currently on a six fight winning streak and he is coming off a decision win against Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 44. During his winning streak, four of the victories have come by TKO/KO and is currently ranked as the number two title challenger in the UFC 145 pound division.
Edgar (17-4-1) has won back to back fights after dropping three straight fights. His most recent win came in July as he defeated B.J. Penn at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale by TKO in the third round.
