Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Jimi Manuwa booked as main event of UFC Fight Night 56

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will headline UFC Fight Night 56 on November 8th in Brazil when he meets Jimi Manuwa.

The fight booking was announced during Friday night’s UFC Fight Night 50 broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

UFC Fight Night 56 is expected to come from the Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil on November 8th and ticket information is expected to be released by the UFC shortly.

This will be the second straight fight for Rua (22-9) that he headlines an event in Brazil as he lost to Dan Henderson in Match at UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal. He has dropped three of his last four fights, but he has won a fight night bonus in his last two fights.

Manuwa (14-1) will also be competiting in the main event of a UFC fight card for the second straight time as he lost to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC Fight Night 37 in March. He did win the fight of the night bonus against Gustafsson and this will be his fifth UFC bout.
