Mitch Gagnon has a new opponent for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 54 in Canada as Rob Font is out of the fight card due to undisclosed reasons and Gagnon will now meet UFC newcomer Roman Salazar.
The fight change was announced by the UFC on late Monday evening.
UFC Fight Night 54 will come from the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Rory MacDonald meets Tarec Saffiedine.
Salazar (9-2) is currently on a four fight winning streak and he is coming off a submission win less than two weeks ago against Jose Carbajal. His last two wins have come by submission and six of his nine wins have come by stoppage.
Gagnon (11-2) has won three in a row after losing his UFC debut to Bryan Caraway in 2012 at UFC 149. During his winning streak, two of the wins have come by submission in the first round and his most recent victory came in April as he defeated Tim Gordon at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale.
