An undisclosed injury has forced Alejandro Villalobos out of his Bellator 126 bout against Bubba Jenkins and taking his place in the bout will be Thiago Meller.
Bellator officials announced the change in a press release on Tuesday and the also announced the complete Bellator 126 card on September 26th from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bellator 126 will be headlined by a middleweight title fight as Alexander Shlemenko will defend the title against season ten tournament winner Brandon Halsey.
Meller (19-5) is currently on a five fight winning streak and this will be his Bellator debut. All five of those victories have come by stoppage and his most recent win came in February in Brazil. Jenkins (7-1) has won four of his five fights in Bellator and recently dropped down to the featherweight division. He will enter this fight following a TKO victory over Poppies Martinez and two of his last three wins have come by TKO.
The preliminary card on Spike.com will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will feature Ryan Martinez facing Nick Rossborough in a heavyweight bout. Other notable fights on the preliminary card included Derek Campos vs. Estevan Payan, Stuart Austin vs. Dan Charles, Michael Parker vs. Joe Taimanglo, and Raymond Pina vs. Larue Burley.
