The medical suspensions for UFC 178 have been released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and Tim Kennedy is one of four fighters facing a six month suspension.
The commission released the medical suspensions on Monday and the suspensions were forwarded to TheMMAReport.com after they were requested.
UFC 178 took place this past Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and was headlined by Demetrious Johnson retaining the UFC flyweight title with a submission victory against Chris Cariaso.
Along with Kennedy facing a six month suspension, the other three fighters on the card facing this length of a suspension are Cat Zingano, Stephen Thompson, and Jon Tuck. All of those fighters can come off suspension earlier that March 27, 2015 if they are cleared by a doctor.
The complete UFC 178 medical suspensions are below:
- Eddie Alvarez: Suspended until 11/12/14, no contact until 10/28/14
- Dustin Poirer: Suspended until 11/12/14, no contact until 10/28/14
- Yoel Romero: Suspended until 11/12/14, no contact until 10/28/14 (left eyebrow laceration)
- Tim Kennedy: Must clear left orbital inferior blow out fracture with ophthalmologist or plastic surgeon or no contest until 03/27/15; minimum suspension no contest until 11/12/14, no contact until 10/28/14
- Cat Zingano: Must have upper back cleared by a Doctor or no contest until 03/27/15
- Amanda Nunes: Suspended until 11/12/14, no contact until 10/28/14 (left eyebrow laceration)
- Takeya Mizugaki: Suspended until 11/27/14, no contact until 11/12/14
- James Krause: Suspended until 10/28/14, no contact until 10/19/14
- Stephen Thompson: Must have right eye cleared by an ophthalmologist and right hand x-rayed and cleared by an orthopedic Doctor or no contest until 03/27/15
- Patrick Cote: Suspended until 10/28/14, no contact until 10/19/14
- Jon Tuck: Must have right shoulder and right foot cleared by Doctor or no contest until 03/27/15
- Cody Gibson: Suspended until 10/28/14, no contact until 10/13/14
