The UFC has announced several new fight bookings for UFC Fight Night 59 on January 18th with the matchups being Benson Henderson vs. Eddie Alvarez, Jorge Masvidal vs. Norman Parke, and Costas Philippou vs. Uriah Hall.
All three fight bookings were announced by the UFC on Wednesday.
UFC Fight Night 59 will come from the TD Garden in Boston on January 18th and will be headlined by a featherweight bout as Conor McGregor meets Dennis Siver.
Henderson (21-4) is 2-2 in his last four fights and is coming off a knockout defeat to Rafael dos Anjos in August. Prior to that defeat, he had won back to back fights including a submission win over Rustam Khabilov. Alvarez (25-4) lost his UFC debut last month to Donald Cerrone and the defeat snapped a three fight losing streak. It was his first defeat since 2011 and he is 10-2 in his last twelve fights.
Masvidal (28-8) has won three in row and five of his six fights in the UFC. During his winning streak, all of the victories have come by decision including a win last month against James Krause. Parke (20-2-1) is unbeaten in his five UFC fights and was scheduled to face Diego Sanchez at UFC 180. However, an injury pulled him out of the fight and he will be looking for his fifth UFC win in this bout.
Philippou (13-4, 1NC) made his UFC debut in 2011 and has gone 6-3 in the promotion. After losing back to back fights, he got back on the winning side in May as he defeated Lorenz Larkin by knockout. Hall (9-4) has won back to back fights after dropping his first two fights in the UFC. His most recent win came in July as he defeated Thiago Santos by decision.
