The main event of World Series of Fighting 14 on Saturday night in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was a welterweight bout as Jake Shields won his promotional debut with a submission victory in the first round against Ryan Ford.
Ford would get off to a good start by landing a left jab but Shields would be able to secure a takedown and began to look for a submission. After getting the back of Ford, he would eventually lock in the rear-naked choke submission and Ford would tap out.
