A lightweight bout has been announced as the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 55 as Ross Pearson will meet Al Iaquinta on the November 8th card in Australia.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Thursday.
UFC Fight Night 55 will come from the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia on November 8th and will be headlined by a scheduled five round middleweight bout as former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold meets Michael Bisping.
Pearson (16-7, 1NC) has gone 3-1, 1NC since returning to the lightweight division in late 2012 and this will be the third time he has a fight in the UFC to take place in Australia. He is coming off a TKO win against Gray Maynard at UFC Fight Night 47 and his last three wins have come by TKO.
Iaquinta (9-3-1) has won four of his last five after losing to Michael Chiesa in The Ultimate Fighter 15 Final. Three of his four wins in the UFC have come by decision and he is coming off a TKO win at UFC Fight Night 50 against Rodrigo Damm.
