Bellator announced the first three events of 2015, which include four title fights

Prior to the Bellator 131 fight card on Saturday in San Diego, Bellator officials announced the dates and venues for the first three events in 2015.Emanuel Newton

The 2015 calendar for the promotion will begin on January 16th as Bellator 132 will come from the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California and will be headlined by Patricio “Pitbull” Freire defending the featherweight title against former champion Daniel Straus.

Then on February 27th, Bellator 133 will come from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and will feature two title fights. In the main event Douglas Lima defends the welterweight title against Paul Daley and Emanuel Newton will defend the light heavyweight title against Liam McGeary in the co-main event. Also on that card, Bobby Lashley will have a rematch against James Thompson and Sokoudjou will meet Linton Vassell.

One month later, the promotion will return to the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma and bantamweight champion Joe Warren will make his first unified title defense against Marcos Galvao.

Tickets for all three events are on sale now and can be purchased on Bellator.com and more information on each fight card will be made available in the coming weeks.

Lashley earlier in his career was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock in his 2nd fight , but then he got busted for roids then in his 1st fight in SF vs Ron Sparks, but Lashley got injured. also Eddie Sanchez that fight never happend bc of personal issues. also he was supposed to fight Dave Huckaba,Tim Hague, Schoonover. those fights never happened either cuz his opponents with drew or got injured. how do you think he would do vs Sanchez, Schoonover, Sparks, Hague, Huckaba, Shamrock?

      1. Ya or when he 1st started MMA. Also wut happened to Victory Motorcycle and some other Bellator sponsors not sponsoring them anymore? Is it that they just didn’t renew their deals?

        1. How much money do you think Viacom has invested in Bellator? These are my top ten fw’s in MMA: Aldo, Edgar, Swanson, Lamas, Pitbull, Mcgregor, Mendes, Straus, Curran, Poirier! Hbu Jason?

        2. Viacom paid $50 million for the majority interest in Bellator a couple of years ago, plus they had to buy out Bjorn Rebney when they fired him since he was the biggest minority share holder of the company.

          On FW, I have Mendes as #2 since his only FW losses are to Aldo

        3. Do you know how much they paid for Bjorn’s part? He prolly got a nice payday lol. who would win in a Kickboxing and MMA fight between Schilling vs Spong? I think Spong would prolly win both.

        4. Unknown on the exact figure. Remember, Spong is a light heavyweight and Schilling is a middleweight

        5. Ik, but I was thinking they could do a catch weight. it would be a fun fight 4sure. wut other fun fights can Scott Coker make? Lashley vs Thomson is not a fun fight it’s a freak show fight. Manhoef vs Schilling was awesome and it was Fotn like Coker promised. Pitbull vs Straus/ Lima vs Daley/ Newton vs Liam are great fights and that’s wut I am looking forward to the new Bellator era are fights like these!

        6. Do you think Scott owns Bjorn’s part or Viacom fully owns them? Also who’s in charge of Bellator releases is it Spike tv officials or Rich Chou, Zack Light, Coker? how was your Thanksgiving?

        7. Coker’s financial package is unknown. No one will comment on whether he has any shares of the company. Releases are made by the talent operations team, which includes Coker, Chou, and Light

        9. Did you see Bellator’s top 5 KO’s of season 11? Liam’s KO of Valavicius wasn’t on there WTF.. How can you not put that as a top 5 KO. Don’t you think that should’ve been on the list?

  3. I was watching Steve Carl vs Josh Burkman on demand and I heard Todd Harris say both of them fought for the UFC before. when has Steve Carl fought for the UFC?? He’s fought for Bellator a few times tho.

  4. one guy posted on MMA fighting ex UFC fighter Diego Nunes highlight reel KO, but they don’t even mention he’s a current Bellator fighter.. everybody knows he fought for UFC. so much UFC ass kissing I hate it. I get it UFC is the best, but without these small promotions they’d be nothing..

  5. I was looking at how many fighters Bellator has on their website. and I counted 132 fighters. wiki is total BS. they lie all the time. Also since last yr they’ve released 150 fighters maybe even more. since their existence they’ve prolly released more than 400 fighters. I prolly agree with 100 of those releases, but rest I’m like WTF Bellator lol.

  6. Did you hear about Joe Vedepo headbutting an officer and hospitalizing him? when it’s a good thing they say he’s a former UFC fighter, but when it’s a bad thing they say he’s a Bellator fighter. that’s the media for ya..

  7. MVP’s opponent was announced by Scott. he’s also 7-0 like MVP. never heard of him tho. he also announced Bubba vs Karakhanyan. big step up for Bubba Jenkins.

  8. Did you ask Bellator why they released Blagoi Ivanov, Diego Marlon, Sergej Grecicho? Also what is your take on Bellator interested in more pro wrestlers to fight/ promote? They are targeting Brock/ Del Rio, ect.

    1. No I have not. I got back home late last night. At some point today, I will look for an answer.

      On pro wrestlers, they will draw ratings and that is what any MMA promotions wants. Higher ratings = higher advertising revenue/

      1. It sucks that Bellator released Ivanov him vs Kongo would’ve been a great fight. what do you think of Kongo vs Ivanov? that’s a fight fans wanna see. too bad Bellator doesn’t listen to the fans never..

  9. Axs tv is so biast. They don’t even have the Scott Coker interview on their youtube channel.. Everybody is pro UFC.. Well they all get paid by them so I guess it makes sense.
