Desmond Green and his brother are more than siblings, they are best friends

If you have a sibling, you know about the bond you have with your brother or sister. While Desmond Green was having the best night of his mixed martial arts career on Friday night at Titan FC 31, his brother, Jerome was sitting in the USF Sun Dome admiring what his little brother was doing.

The past couple of weeks have been tough for the Green brothers as Desmond moved his training up to Tri-Star in Montreal from New York. Because of the change in training, there communication was through phone calls and text messages.

“When he is home — the last month has kind of been crazy because he has been away training, but when is home, we see each other almost every day,” Jerome said. “Every day we are chilling at the house, he comes over to my crib, come over to my mom’s house. Got the kids playing around, we are best friends, we are more than just brothers.”

When they were younger, Desmond would look up to Jerome for motivation and now the rules have reverse according to Jerome.

“He just motivates me all around,” Jerome said. “I just had my first child. He has been a father for five years now and even though he is my little brother, I just look up to him. He is a great father. We are so tight of a family.”

Jerome arrived in Tampa on Friday morning to watch Desmond fight and he loves being able to support his brother when he has the ability to be there. Just prior to Desmond walking to the cage to face Miguel Torres, Jerome went up to Desmond to let him know he is there to support him. For Desmond, it was the greatest feeling to see his brother right before he was set for the toughest test of his career.

Desmond would only need 46-seconds to defeat Torres and sitting on press row, I could hear the entire Green family celebrating the victory. Desmond’s one-year old son, Desmond Jr. came up to his father and the entire family celebrated in the cage after the event ended.

After the fight was over Titan FC CEO Jeff Aronson made it official that the promotion is targeting to have Desmond meet Steven Siler for the featherweight title at a future Titan FC show. While the date for the fight has not been determined, there is one thing to count on, Jerome will be in attendance cheering on his brother.
