World Series of Fighting 16 has a new venue as the December 13th card will come from the McClellan Conference Center in Sacramento, California.
Initially, the event was targeted to take place at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, but the Nevada Athletic Commission did not approve the event.
Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett recently confirmed to TheMMAReport.com that the event request was denied due to the commission already approving two boxing events in Las Vegas for December 13th.
The event will feature two title fights as Rousimar Palhares will defend the welterweight title against Jon Fitch, and Rick Glenn will defend the featherweight title in the co-main event against Lance Palmer.
“We are excited to bring the World Series Fighting product to the city of Sacramento for the first time and are looking forward to delivering an incredible night of MMA action to a market where fans have shown tremendous appreciation and enthusiasm for our great sport,” said World Series of Fighting President, six-time world champion and two-time Hall of Famer Ray Sefo.
Tickets for World Series of Fighting 16: Palhares vs. Fitch are currently on sale and are available on WSOF.com.
