WSOF 15 Weigh-In Results: Melvin Guillard misses weight on first attempt, fined 50% of purse

The World Series of Fighting 15 Weigh-Ins took place on Friday afternoon in Tampa, Florida and Melvin Guillard missed weight for his title fight against lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.WSOF 15

The weigh-ins came from the Clarion Hotel near the campus of the University of South Florida and tomorrow night’s card will come from the USF Sun Dome.

Guillard initially weighed in at 158.8 pounds, while Gaethje made weight at 154.8 pounds. Guillard returned 90 minutes later to weigh-in for a second time and came in at 158.6 pounds.

WSOF Executive Vice President Ali Abdel-Aziz told TheMMAReport.com that the fight will now go forward as a 159 pound, 3 Round catchweight bout and Guillard has agreed to a fine of 50 percent.

The event will be headlined by a middleweight title fight as David Branch (184 lbs) defends the WSOF title for the first time as he is challenged by former UFC title challenger Yushin Okami (183 lbs). The main card on NBCSN will also feature another title fight as Jessica Aguilar (115 lbs) defends the WSOF women’s strawweight title against Kalindra Faria (114.8 lbs).
