Two new fights have been added to January’s Bellator 132 in California as Houston Alexander will meet Virgil Zwicker in a rematch and Fernando Gonzalez faces Marius Zaromskis.
Both fight bookings were announced by Bellator on Tuesday and both fights will be placed on the main card broadcast on Spike TV.
Bellator 132 will come from the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California and will be headlined by a rematch as Patricio Pitbull defends the Bellator featherweight title against Daniel Straus.
Alexander and Zwicker initially met earlier this fall at Bellator 129 and the bout was declared a majority draw due to Alexander being deducted a point for a headbutt. Alexander (16-10-1, 2NC) has gone 3-1, 1NC in his last five fights and his last three fights have come in Bellator. Zwicker (12-4-1) is winless in his last two fights and is 1-1-1 in Bellator.
Gonzalez (22-13) has won back to back fights and both of those wins have come in Bellator. His most recent win came in October as he defeated Karo Parisyan by TKO in the first round. Zaromskis (20-8, 1NC) has won four of his six fights in Bellator and three of those wins have come by decision. His last appearance in the cage came in May as he defeated Vaughn Anderson at Bellator 119.
“Our first event of 2015 should be absolutely incredible,” Bellator MMA President Scott Coker said in a press release. “We already had two fantastic fights on the lineup, including a world title fight, and now we’ve added a rematch between Virgil Zwicker and Houston Alexander that features some real intrigue after the incidents from their first meeting, as well as Fernando Gonzalez looking to beat his third-straight high-profile veteran in Marius Zaromskis, who is still one of the most devastating and creative strikers in the sport.”
