The final episode of The Ultimate Fighter 20 premiered tonight on Fox Sports 1 and Carla Esparza and Rose Namajunas will now meet on Friday night in Las Vegas to deterime the inaugural UFC women’s strawweight title.
On tonight’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter 20, Esparza defeated Jessica Penne by unanimous decision, while Namajunas advanced to the finals with a submission over Randa Markos.
They will now meet each other at the live finale on Friday night at The Palms in Las Vegas in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale on Fox Sports 1.
Esparza (9-2) was the number one seed in this tournament as she was the Invicta FC strawweight champion. In the opening round of this tournament, she submitted Angela Hill and followed that up with a majority decision over Tecia Torres before defeating Penne in the semifinals.
Namajunas (2-1) entered the tournament as the number seven seed and won all of her fights by submission. In the opening round, she submited Alex Chambers in the first round and defeated number two seed Joanne Calderwood in the quarterfinals with a submission in the second round.
