UFC Fight Night 61 will come from Brazil on February 22nd and the promotion has announced two fight bookings for the cards with the bouts being Cezar Ferreira vs. Sam Alvey and Adriano Martins vs. Rustam Khabilov.
Both fight bookings were announced by the UFC on Thursday morning.
Ferreira (8-3) won the middleweight tournament on the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil and has gone 4-1 in the UFC. He is coming off a decision victory in June against Andrew Craig and three of his four wins in the UFC have come by decision. Alvey (24-6, 1NC) made his official UFC debut in August and lost his debut to Tom Watson. He returned in November and defeated Dylan Andrews by knockout at UFC Fight Night 55.
Martins (26-7) has won two of his three fights in the UFC and has won a performance of the night bonus in both of his UFC victories. Back in July, he defeated Juan Puig by knockout at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale and it was his seventh win in his last eight fights. Khabilov (17-2) entered the UFC in 2012 and won three straight fights before losing to Benson Henderson in June. The defeat snapped a six fight winning streak and two of his three wins in the UFC have come by TKO/KO.
UFC Fight Night 61 will come from the Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Brazil and the promotion will be announcing the main event for the card shortly.
