Dustin Poirier recently announced his intentions to move up to the lightweight division and he will make his UFC 155 pound debut on April 4 against Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 63.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Friday afternoon.
UFC Fight Night 63 will come from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia and the main event of the fight card is expected to be announced shortly.
Poirier (16-4) is coming off a stoppage defeat against Conor McGregor at UFC 178 in September and it snapped a three fight winning streak. This will be his second time fighting at the Patriot Center as he lost to Chan Sung Jung at UFC on FUEL TV 3 in 2012.
Ferreira (11-1) won his UFC debut in August when he defeated Ramsey Nijem by TKO at UFC 177. He returned in November and was defeated by Beneil Dariush at UFC 179.
More details on the event is expected to be announced shortly by the UFC.
