The main event for UFC on FOX 15 in April is now set as former UFC champion Lyoto Machida will meet former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold in a scheduled five round middleweight bout.
Rockhold announced the fight booking on his Instagram page and UFC officials have also confirmed the bout.
Machida (22-5) has won three of his four fights since dropping down to the middleweight division from light heavyweight and is coming off a TKO victory last month against C.B. Dollaway. His only defeat in the 185 pound division came in July as he lost a decision to current UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
Rockhold (13-2) dropped his UFC debut in 2013 to current number one contender Vitor Belfort and since that defeat, he has won three in a row. All three of those wins have come by stoppage and his most recent win came in November as he submitted Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 55.
UFC on FOX 15 will come from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on April 18th and ticket information is expected to be released by the UFC shortly.
