The World Series of Fighting will return to Canada on February 12th and Marlon Moraes will defend the bantamweight title against Josh Hill in the main event of the fight card.
The event was officially announced by promotion on Thursday and along with the title fight, the main card on NBCSN will see Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Antonio Carvalho, Shane Campbell vs. Brandt Dewsbery, and Hakeem Dawodu vs. Tristan Johnson.
“This is an incredible matchup between two of the world’s top 135 pound fighters that we have been looking to put together for the last several months and, now that it is finally here, we will see who the superior fighter is on February 13,” said WSOF President Ray Sefo.
Moraes (14-4-1) is currently on an eight fight winning streak and six of those wins have come in the World Series of Fighting. He won the inaugural bantamweight title last year when he defeated Josh Rettinghouse by unanimous decision. Since winning the title, he scored a submission victory against Cody Bollinger in a non-title bout.
Hill (10-0) was scheduled to face Moraes for the title last year, but an injury kept him out of the fight. He won his promotional debut last year against Mike Adams by knockout in the first round and it was his fourth career win by stoppage.
Tickets for World Series of Fighting 18: Moraes vs. Hill will go on sale Tuesday, January 13 at 12 p.m. ET at Ticketmaster.com and are priced from $50.
