Patricio Pitbull retained the Bellator featherweight title on Friday night with a submission victory over Daniel Straus and Bellator President Scott Coker has announced that Georgi Karakhanyan will be the next challenger for Pitbull.
The next title fight was announced during the Bellator 132 broadcast and Karakhanyan had a staredown with Pitbull in the cage following the conclusion of the event.
Prior to Pitbull successfully defending the Bellator featherweight title against Straus, Karakhanyan defeated Bubba Jenkins in the co-main event by technical submission in his return bout to the promotion.
When they meet for the title later this year, it will be a rematch as Pitbull defeated Karakhanyan by TKO at Bellator 37 in the season four featherweight tournament. Following that fight, Karakhanyan left the promotion and won nine straight before losing the WSOF featherweight title against Rick Glenn.
