  1. Did you read Michael Bane’s legal take on the class action suit/ Bellator as minor league/ Rampage/ Bellator split? If not I highly recommend it. He made some very good points and I think he may be on to something.

  2. I really hope 2015 is a year of change in MMA. I hope the lawsuits will provide that change and give a competitive balance in MMA. Do you know why Bellator is taking so long to announce their cards and what’s happening with the Rampage situation?

    1. I would put these 7 MMA promotions in front of Titan: UFC, Bellator, WSOF, One FC, KSW, Cage Warriors, Legacy. The reason I replied to my own comment is bc I don’t know if you seen it. Do you think the ppl that is in charge of Bellator releases is trying to hurt them instead of trying to make it a success? I just don’t get their business decisions at all. In Strikeforce they never let go anybody that’s what makes me think that Coker/ Chou doesn’t call the shots/ have any say in anything.

      1. I think you forgot or maybe you don’t wanna read my comment on the Rampage situation/ lawsuits so I’ll say it again. I really hope 2015 is a year of change in MMA. I hope the lawsuits will provide that change and give a competitive balance in MMA. Do you know why Bellator is taking so long to announce their cards and what’s happening with the Rampage situation? Also how good do you think Brock could have been if he didn’t have his illness? I think he could have been one of the GOAT. But I think UFC dropped the ball by throwing the kitchen sink at him instead of building him up. you don’t see McGregor being fed to the wolves his 1st few fights. I don’t think nobody has faced the competition that brock did in their first 8 fights. He’s a freak athlete and one of a kind 4sure.

  3. UFC 175 did 545k buys. If Bellator doesn’t profit this year do you think Viacom will sell it to the UFC and if not what do you think happens with them in the next couple of yrs? I’ve heard Viacom has put alot more money in Bellator. I think UFC 182 will do 650k buys. When/ if Brock comes they will be making a ton of money 4sure. Even when Rampage comes back to. Injuries happen in every sport to every player/ fighters. It’s just part of the game.

  4. Affliction and Elite XC wasn’t sold to UFC. They just folded. WFA, WEC, Pride, Strikeforce was bought by UFC. And I didn’t say brock could have been the GOAT, I said he could’ve been one of. Also another reason why I think they are a monopoly is bc they have several MMA promotions working with/ feeders to them/ promoters playing buddy, buddy and don’t wanna compete. Is Viacom’s goal to be number 1 or just be a respected league for fans/ fighters? I have alot of ?’s, but I get that you may not have all the answers lol.

    1. Those companies sold for a reason, just remember that. If they were doing good from business side, they would not be selling their assets. Viacom wants to compete with UFC. Only time will tell if they will be able to do that.

      1. I understand, but I just wish UFC had competition bc it would be good for fighters/ fans/ MMA. Last yr I saw that Jones camp wanted help from Paul Heyman with his promos lol. I guess he said no bc Jones sucks at trash talking. I do see Jones winning 2morro, but I really hope DC destroys him. It might seem like I really hate the UFC, but that’s not the case. I bought UFC dvd’s, hat’s, video games/ I watch it all the time. I have a ton of UFC dvr recordings, ect. I just want there to be another Strikeforce/ WEC, Pride, ect. actual competition to the UFC. One company having 97% of the best fighters and 98% market share is pretty boring if you know what I mean. I at least hope the lawsuit will eliminate feeders to the UFC and create real competition/ change. Hbu? We both know that competition is a good and needed thing am I right?

        1. Fighters play a role in competition. Fighting out their deals and seeing what the market will pay them can help change the system. As an independent contractor, you want more than 1 company bidding for your services to get the best deal.

          MMA is a tough business to make money when your name is not the UFC. Go ask any promoter and they will tell you that. UFC is the best at this business. No one is close to them.

        2. And also it’s easy to be the best when you have all the best fighters and everybody working with you. The media only covers UFC. It should be called the UFC media not MMA. I also think Joe Silva is overrated bc he has 550 of the top fighters. anybody could be the best company/ matchmaker if they had everything they wanted.

      2. Strikeforce was a different story Jason. The ppl that owned it didn’t have the same love/ passion for MMA like Scott did. They lost some money, but also gained some. really good attendances and ppl rooted for it unlike Bellator everybody wants it to fail. Scott even said he was gonna start another MMA promotion with a big investor, but instead took the job with BMMA. If scott didn’t take the job who do you think would’ve replaced Bjorn?

        1. Strikeforce was not making money, they were losing money. If there were making money, Strikeforce would still be around.

        2. Strikeforce owners didn’t care about MMA. It was just a business for them. Scott loved Strikeforce. It was his baby. If it was his decision and if the backers were actual MMA fans they’d still be around. Viacom if they wanted to could make Bellator huge. If they don’t make money this yr they’re pretty much screwed. But I think they’ll have a good yr this yr. UFC and WWE are unstoppable in their worlds. Bellator/ TNA will never be like SF/ WCW in terms of competition. I couldn’t really tell you when’s the last time I watched pro wrestling. I miss the good old days of it and MMA. Oh well nothing lasts 4ever.

        3. You can only lose money for so long before you exit a business, that is what happened with Strikeforce. Do not know what to tell you if you think they made money.

        4. They lost more money than they made. But I think they’ve made more money than Bellator wouldn’t you agree? Plus SF had way better fighters than Bellator/ bigger names. Did you see some of their gates/ attendances? It was pretty good for a MMA company not named the UFC. I get it. I just wish Strikeforce/ Pride were still around. That’s why I’m thinking Bellator won’t be around for that much longer. What do you think?

        5. Those bigger names (Fedor, Hendo) are a major cause why promotion lost money. I expect Bellator to be around for awhile. They have to develop their roster and keep their top fighters.

        6. I hope Pitbull resigns with Bellator. His management wants him to go to the UFC. I think he wants to stay with them. After the Straus fight he only has 1 more fight on his contract.

        7. Pitbull will put himself in a great situation if he can win all of the fights left on his deal. Will have 2 promotions that will want his services, which means he will get paid. What is wrong with that?

        8. Nothing. Just another champ Bellator is prolly gonna lose. They need to resign their top guys that’s all I’m saying.

        9. I have said the same things. While I understand they want to add notable fighters to bring eyeballs to the television set, they have to keep their talented fighters like Patricio, Brooks, Lima, Halsey, McGeary, etc.

        10. If I was them I would have offered Askren a way better deal. Also would’ve tried to resign Lombard instead of letting him talk to the UFC. Lombard would have delivered big ratings on Spike. I get the Eddie situation they fucked that one up big time. Vegh was 5-1 with them, but hey since they’ve released him nobody has signed him. Ivanov/Shamhalaev beat Lavar and Richman and they are gone, but the guys they beat are still there. I am a hardcore fan so that means I’ll watch any MMA fight. I’m prolly in the minority lol.

  5. I think Jones vs DC is the biggest fight in UFC history. My top 5 biggest UFC fights are: Jones vs DC, Lesnar vs Cain, Lesnar vs Carwin, Silva vs Weidman, Lesnar vs Mir/ Silva vs Chael. Hbu?

    1. All of those fights are up there. Still can’t forget about Liddell’s fights, which was during a boom period for the sport.

  6. Scott said they’d go to bigger venues this yr. 132/ 135 are very small venues. what’s up with that?

    1. The tent pole events will be at venues like Mohegan and Valley View Casino Center. Monthly shows will still come from places like Pechanga and Thackerville. Casinos will pay the site fees

  7. I’m not watching UFC 182 prelims, I’m recording it. Instead I’ll watch the NFL playoff game. Hbu? Not gonna buy the PPV either. 65 bucks are you insane?!?!

    1. I will be watching the UFC event. The UFC did not raise the cost of PPV, that was done by your cable/satellite company.

      1. I saw that for cage side seats for 183 it’s 4k. I think it’s 600 for 184, but I’m not sure. Do you know how much it is for cage side 182?

  8. I was looking at Spike tv schedule on my tv and I saw for Friday the 9th back to back hrs of Bellator specials. The 1st one is top 20 KO’s / 2nd hr is 15 fantastic finishes. I thought they should have done top 50 KO’s instead and top 20 subs. oh well. Bellator always disappoints anyway.. I gotcha updated Jason don’t worry and you’re welcome lol.

  9. For Bellator’s first 4 events these are how much it is for cage side seats: 132: ($150) 133: ($148) 134: ($214) 135: ($85) That’s including tax. what do you think about them prices is it reasonable? It’s less than when Bjorn was in charge I think.

        How are ticket sales for Lima vs Daley?

  12. You know the corner talking during the main event they show in UFC? I think Bellator did it 1st at Bellator 100 during Lima vs Saunders 2. I don’t think the UFC did it before that. I think they started doing that after Bellator. If we see it again in Bellator ppl will say they copied off of UFC, but that’s not true.

      1. I prolly haven’t payed attention then. But what about showing the name in gold? UFC copied Bellator on that one and the red X on Marshall vs Manhoef poster. UFC copied that with Hunt vs Nelson and I think I saw it on another poster in for 2015. They 4sure stole the TUF/Fight for the troops/ Fight Pass/ spider promo, ect from the WWE. TUF is a copy of WWE Tough enough/ Fight for the Troops is a copy of Tribute to the Troops/ Fight Pass = WWE network. All things UFC copied from the WWE. Plus all the marketing/ promos/ advertising, ect. I’m not trying to hate on the UFC, just telling it how it is. And maybe hating a lil bit lol.

        1. They have used the gold for awhile now. Probably something you just started noticing. Tough Enough/TUF are reality shows. MTV credited reality show so if you want to say they copied something, it comes from MTV starting reality shows. If you want to say Fight Pass is a copy of something, it’s Netflix not WWE Network.

        2. You’re right Jason. But the the Fight for the Troops they got that idea from WWE Tribute to the Troops. WWE has been doing that for 12 yrs. Every creation came from somewhere else first. Idk why I bitching. I can’t change the world. I wish I could tho lol.

        3. Also WWE started showing their PPV highlights in still mode a long time ago and then everybody started doing it after them. Any Idc about the WWE fuck them.. I don’t know why I keep praising/ talking about them. WWE is so stupid.. Idk why ppl still watch that crap.

        5. How long? I remember seeing WWE do it yrs ago when I used to watch them. Anyway you might be right. ESPN was covering the UFC at 182 and one analyst was interviewing Dana after the fights and I think before. Do you think UFC will sign a deal with ESPN after their deal with Fox is over? I think maybe they’ll. I’m pretty sure a lot more ppl watch ESPN than Fox.

        6. Still images being used has to do with pay-per-view rights. This has been going on for a long, long time. ESPN is a much more popular cable network and there is still 4 years left on the FOX/UFC deal. As long as Fox wants the UFC product, I expect it to stay there. UFC is key to Fox Sports 1 right now with the lack of play by play coverage the network has.

        7. Dana thinks the UFC is worth more than 700 million. Do you agree? Ik it’s worth more than 2 billion, but I’m talking about TV deal. Btw is Bellator done releasing guys or are they gonna clear out the whole roster? I think there are like 130 something fighters under contract I’m not sure tho. Do you know how many fighters they have under contract? The wiki page is wrong. Bellator’s website is best way to know.

        8. I could not put a value on a private company. Also, a company is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. On Bellator, when you cut 9 events from the calendar, they had to cut a lot of fighters. If not, they would be in breach of contract with a majority of fighters.

        9. Even the good fighters? I hope they bring back some of these guys they cut. But only the ones that deserve to be back like for ex: Ivanov, Grecicho, Valavicious, Vegh, ect. I think Bellator should focus on promoting their guys instead of former UFC fighters. I’ve said this a million times. They are promoting the UFC more than they are Bellator. Always mentioning UFC on Spike/ press conferences, ect. Ik it’s to get more ppl to watch, but they’ve gone overboard.

      2. Bellator sometimes copies UFC too. I noticed with the corner thing and at Tito vs Bonnar them showing a video package just like UFC does. And Jimmy smith trying to act like Joe Rogan lol. I guess you could also say Wheelock is trying to be like Goldberg.

  13. Right now on FS2 is a marathon of TUF: Team Lesnar vs Team JDS. I’m thinking Brock is 100% coming back to the UFC and will coach against team Mir on the next season of TUF. Lesnar vs Mir 3 trilogy will finally happen! 1st fight was 2 on 1 Mazzi and Mir vs Lesnar.

      1. If they do Lesnar vs Mir 3 do you think ppl would even wanna watch it? Lesnar destroyed him twice and if it wasn’t for Steve Mazzagatti, Lesnar would have won both fights.

        2. Not really bc Lesnar lost his last 2 fights in the UFC before he retired. It would make sense to have the fight with them 2 on losing streaks. what about Brock fight Nelson in his return or Mitrione? One of those should prolly happen. If Mir loses to Bigfoot I’m pretty sure he’ll retire. Unless he wants to get his ass beat for the third time vs Lesnar lol.

  14. Do you think the ppl at Bellator/ Viacom/ Spike want to make it a huge success and nottry to hurt them? Bc it’s hard to tell with all the business decisions they’ve made over the yrs with the Alvarez/ Rampage situations and questionable releases.

    1. Viacom wants Bellator to be a success. It just like every company Viacom has, they want it to make money and be a success.

      1. not try* I think they should resign their own guys instead of letting them go and not cut ppl with 1 or 2 loses on their records. They keep guys that are way worse. Bellator should resign guys like: Pitbull/Liam/Hasley/Minakov/ Volkov/Curran/, ect. Also try to sign Kharitonov, Goran Rejlic, Karlos Vemola, Mamed, Mariusz, ect. Not sign guys from the UFC who are on a 3/4 fight losing streaks..

      2. I’m pretty sure if Coker was in charge when UFC released Melvin Guillard that Bellator would sign him. Idk about Jake Shields tho.

  16. I was looking online and I saw that the WWE is doing an angle with their former wrestlers suing the WWE for multi million just like the UFC lawsuit lol. Wow can anyone now a days be more original damn… TNA copies everything WWE does all the time. Everybody/ everything is a copy. It’s so boring the same old things..

  18. Bjorn is stupid not to wanna sign Guillard. Chandler vs Guillard would be a fun fight! And if they signed Shields they could have had him rematch Daley. And do Shields vs Zaromskis. I would be the best matchmaker ever. I wish I was a MMA matchmaker.

  19. The other company that is trying to sign Alberto Del Rio is TNA. He said he’ll go to whoever offers the most. I think Bellator should forget about Del Rio and worry about trying to sign Lesnar.

  21. You know how UFC is now announcing stuff on their events or PPV like Bellator does on Spike TV. They used to announce it only on UFC Tonight/ press conferences. Btw have you heard any new fights for Bellator’s upcoming events and when will they be announced?

    1. Preliminary card for Bellator 132 will be announced today. Also, there is a matchup for March card is targeted but my understanding is the bout agreements have not been signed which is why it has not been announced.

      1. What weight class and what do you think of the fight? You don’t have to tell me the fight, just say if it’s a monthly card fight or it’s like a weekly fight type. Cause 132 card feels like a weekly one to me. Also you mean for the 135 event or are they having another one in March? I thought these cards are gonna be stacked. So far Lima vs Daley and Shlemenko vs Manhoef are the only great cards. When will the 2nd qt be announced do you know? I got lots of ?’s bro. I’m sure a lot of ppl do about the new Bellator.

        1. At this point, the monthly cards Bellator are doing feel no different that the weekly cards they have been doing since they started. Monthly cards have good main and co-main event bouts, but other two fights are not going to get anyone excited at this time. Fight I am talking about is for the March 27th card in Thackerville. Will be a lightweight bout.

        5. Fight that makes sense for Lawal and Bellator right now, especially from a ratings perspective is for him to meet Tito in the main event of the 2nd tent pole event of the year. The fight I am talking about is a big of known fighters but not big names.

        7. Tito doesn’t wanna fight Mo, he wants an easier fight, someone like Shlemenko lol. Mo vs Lins or Mo vs Sordi would be good fights for him.

        8. I wonder why Scott hasn’t tried to sign Kharitonov. Do you know why and you think UFC will sign him?

        10. He refused to fight former Bellator fighter Damian Grabowski at M1 53. There had to be a reason bc I doubt he was scared to fight him. Maybe money issue.

    This guy is saying that the UFC broke away from the longstanding tradition not to sign fighters from other promotions. UFC didn’t create 550 fighters, they got them from several other promotions. They bought most of them. Wow ppl give all the credit to the UFC and most of the time they don’t deserve it. That’s why I hate UFC fans so much. Worst fans in sports..

  23. There were 20 unaired prelims last yr. How many do you think they’ll do this yr or will they finally stop doing them?

    1. Here is the thing on Bellator preliminary card. A majority of those fights are about selling tickets to get people in the seat. The fact is that promotions like Bellator can not expect to just go into a market and automatically sell tickets. They have to have the local ticket sellers. The fights that are unaired are typically with the fighters that sell the most tickets. It keeps those fans in the seats for the entire event. There are countless times that people will leave after their fighter competes.

      1. I get that, but they can at least show the unaired fights on youtube so everybody can see them. Or is it that they want fans to be at the event? All they need to do is have the fights 1 hr ahead. So that means the main card is from 10-12 est.

  24. So Alvarez was sick that’s why he pulled out? Lashley had mono/ dehydrated and he still fought Griggs. But he lost n it cost him a lot. He prolly could have made it to the UFC if he was still undefeated.

  25. Schilling signed a multi fight deal with Glory. They didn’t resign him before, but after that KO of Manhoef now everybody wants to him.

  26. I thought you said they’d announce 132 fight card yesterday? Do you know any fights for 132?

    1. I was told the announcement would be yesterday but with what happened yesterday, they would have gotten little press for it.

        1. I am sure it will. A majority of the prelims will be full of local ticket sellers. Not fighters on multi-fight deals. 1 fight I do know and I already reported is Anderson-Navarro.

        4. Bellator lately has been having some what I call mini shows/ clips on youtube. Uncut/Outside The Cage/What To Watch/ 5 Rounds/ In Focus/ Behind The Mic, ect. What do you think of them? I actually like them and think it’s different than UFC. I also like that Bellator is most of the time different from the UFC. WSOF tries to be like the UFC a lot and some other MMA promotions.

        6. Bellator is just different period. In good ways and not so good. It’s a good thing they’re different. I think they are a true alternative. But they ain’t at UFC’s level and prolly never will be. Do you think Bellator could ever be bigger than strikeforce/ more popular than it was? A real competitor to the UFC in the future?

  27. What do you think about Ivanov vs Thompson/ Kongo vs Ivanov? I hope they will bring him back for those 2 fights. Also who do you think would win if these fights happened?

    1. I get you like Ivanov, but we should only talk about him against Bellator fighters if he is a Bellator fighter.

      1. Ok, I understand. I just think releasing him was a big mistake. He had potential. But that’s the last time I’ll talk about it.

  28. I saw the prelims for 132. They suck. There’s 3 notable names on it. I wonder when 133/134/135 will be announced.

    1. Preliminary cards will be mainly filled with local ticket sellers. That is not going to change.

  30. Btw when is Tiger fighting for Bellator again and is he the guy who is gonna be on 135?

      1. Also was that Dave O Donnell from Cage Rage/UCMMA at the UK press conference? And is he now working with Bellator? I hope they go to UK/Brazil/Mexico this yr.

        1. You there Jason? Is Dave O Donnell now working with Bellator? Also I was checking the Bellator roster and they signed Tony Johnson, but they don’t have his fight history. He fought and beat Derick Lewis at Bellator 46. You should prolly tell them about that.

        2. Not sure about O’Donnell and Bellator. Tony Johnson is someone that I know of at least one other promotion that wanted to sign him. On his Bellator history, send your complaints to Bellator web department. I do not run their website.

  31. Do you think Bellator can be bigger than Strikeforce like Tito said and a real competitor to the UFC if they sign some big names?

    1. To be a real competitor, along with signing big names, they have to be able to sign prospects, plus keep their own guys. A major question I have with the new regime is how are they developing the roster? Chris Honeycutt was a great signing, but who are the other signing? They have been on the job six months now.

      1. They release a lot of good prospects and their own guys all the time. They just want to sign fighters that ppl know or bring eyeballs.

        1. Bellator is a TV product. They need to draw eyeballs to succeed financially. Bigger audience, bigger advertising revenue for promotion and Spike TV. Just remember, especially the preliminary card fighters are only on 1 fight deals. They can not force those fighters to sign longer deals.

        2. These are top guys they’re releasing. Just cause everybody hasn’t heard of them doesn’t mean that they aren’t good fighters with really good records. Lavar Johnson is 1-3 with them. Why isn’t he released? One Japanese guy is 32-27. He should be released too. I might know why Lavar isn’t cut bc he’s a fan favorite and I guess brings eyeballs. Btw when will he and Kongo fight again for Bellator? They aren’t giving all their fighters fights.

        3. I expect Kongo on the 2nd tent pole event in 2015, which is expected to be in April

        6. Also do you know when will Mcdonough/Koreshkov/Carmont/Chandler/Neves/Tiger, ect all fight for them?

        9. Do you expect Kongo to be the main event and who do you think his opponent should be? I think Lashley if he beats Thompson which I’m sure he will. 1st fight was BS decision.
