The UFC will be returning to Montreal in April for UFC 186 and the card will be headlined by a title fight rematch as T.J. Dillashaw will defend the bantamweight title against Renan Barao.
The title fight was made official by UFC President Dana White on TSN in Canada on Saturday.
Along with the title fight, White confirmed four other fights with the matchups being Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard, Quinton Jackson vs. Fabio Maldonaldo, Michael Bisping vs. C.B. Dolloway, and Patrick Cote vs. Joe Riggs.
UFC 186 will come from the Bell Centre in Montreal on April 25th and tickets will go on sale Saturday, February 14 at 12 p.m. ET.
Dillashaw (11-2) defeated Barao at UFC 173 last year to win the title and was scheduled to have a rematch at UFC 177. However, Barao (33-2, 1NC) was pulled from the event prior to the weigh-ins and Dillashaw ended up defending the title against Joe Soto. He would defeat Soto by stoppage and Barao is coming off a win last month against Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58.
MacDonald (18-2) is currently on a three fight winning streak and has won eight of nine. His most recent win came in October as he defeated former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine by TKO. Lombard (35-4-1, 1NC) has gone 3-0 since dropping down to welterweight and is coming off a win against Josh Burkman earlier this month. Two of his three wins at welterweight have come by decision.
Jackson (35-11) recently signed with the UFC after exiting his Bellator contract due to a breach of that deal. In Bellator, he went 3-0 and his last fight was a unanimous decision against Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal. Maldonado (22-7) is coming off a win against Hans Stringer and has won four of his last five fights. He won a performance of the night bonus against Stringer and he has won two fight night bonuses in his UFC career.
