The rumored date for the UFC heavyweight title unification bout between Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum is now official as they will meet in Mexico City at UFC 188 on June 13.
The UFC announced the fight booking on Monday.
Velasquez and Werdum were initially scheduled to meet in November at UFC 180 after the fighters were coaches on The Ultimate Fighter Latin America. However, an injury forced Velasquez out of the fight card and Werdum went on to defeat Mark Hunt by knockout to win the interim title.
UFC 188 will come from the Mexico City Arena and more details on the event will be announced shortly by the UFC.
