With Raphael Assuncao being out of his main event bout at UFC Fight Night 62 against Urijah Faber, the UFC has announced that the March 21st fight card will now be headlined by the already scheduled welterweight bout between Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare.
The new main event was announced by the UFC on Wednesday.
UFC Fight Night 62 will come from the Ginasio do Maracanazinho and tickets are currently on sale for the fight card.
Maia (19-6) is coming off a win against Alexander Yakovlev in May of last year and it snapped a two fight losing streak. Since dropping to welterweight, he has gone 4-2 and two of those wins have come by stoppage. LaFlare (11-0) entered the UFC in 2013 and has gone 4-0 in the promotion. His last win came in April of last year as he won a decision against John Howard.
