The middleweight bout between Jacare Souza and Yoel Romero initially scheduled for UFC 184 has a new date as they will meet in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 15 in April.
The new date for the bout was announced on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight.
UFC on FOX 15 will come from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on April 18 and will be headlined by a middleweight bout as Lyoto Machida meets Luke Rockhold.
Souza (21-3, 1NC) has won seven in a row since losing the Strikeforce middleweight title to Luke Rockhold. Four of those seven wins have come in the UFC, including a submission victory over Gegard Mousasi in September at UFC Fight Night 50. Romero (9-1) is currently on a five fight winning streak and all of those wins have come in the UFC. Four of the five wins in the UFC have come by TKO/KO and his most recent victory came at UFC 178 against Tim Kennedy.
