Joey Beltran drops to middleweight, targeted to meet Brian Rogers at Bellator 136

Former Bellator light heavyweight title challenger Joey Beltran is dropping down to the middleweight division and he is targeted to make his 185 pound debut on April 10 at Bellator 136 against Brian Rogers.

Sources have told The MMA Report about this targeted bout and an official announcement by Bellator on this fight booking is expected to be announced soon.

Bellator 136 will come from the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California and will be headlined by Will Brooks defending the lightweight title against Dave Jansen.

Beltran (15-11, 1NC) tweeted on Friday night that he made a successful test cut down to middleweight and this will be his first fight since being defeated by now former Bellator light heavyweight champion Emanuel Newton. Since returning to Bellator, he has gone 1-2 and the victory came against Vladimir Matyushenko at Bellator 116.

Rogers (11-7) has been in Bellator since 2011 and he has gone 4-5 in the promotion. His most recent appearance in the Bellator cage came in September as he was defeated by Rafael Carvalho, who will face Joe Schilling in the co-main event of this fight card.
