This fight has been scheduled to happen at earlier dates, but the fight had to be postponed due to multiple reasons including an injury suffered by Weidman in training.

With the fight being delayed multiple times, has Weidman become frustrated with this fight taking so much time to take place?

“No. I have these goals, things I’ve envisioned,” Weidman said on UFC Tonight. “I want to clear out my division and become the best of all time. I’m very motivated not to lose and to shut up the doubters.”

When it comes to Belfort as an opponent, Weidman knows the stregnths of his opponent. He understands the explosive striking that Belfort brings to the table and believes he will finish Belfort at some point in the fight.

“I have a lot of respect for him,” Weidman said. “When you watch his fights, he’s a technician on his feet and on the ground. I’m going out to dominate him. His biggest thing is his stand up. I’m not afraid of him. I’m not sure how it’s going to finish, but I’m definitely going to finish him.”
