Hector Urbina vs. Albert Tumenov added for UFC 188

A welterweight bout has been added to the UFC 188 in Mexico City in June as Hector Urbina will meet Albert Tumenov on the preliminary card. UFC 188

The fight booking was announced on Tuesday by the UFC.

UFC 188 will come from the Mexico City Arena on June 13 and will be headlined by a heavyweight title unification bout as Cain Velasquez meets Fabricio Werdum.

Urbina (17-8-1) has won back to back fights and defeated Edgar Garcia by submission in his UFC debut in November. Fourteen of his wins have come by stoppage and nine of those have come by TKO/KO. Tumenov (15-2) has won three in a row after losing his UFC debut in early 2014. His most recent win came in January as he defeated Nico Musoke by unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 14.

  1. These ?’s are for the insiders podcast. Who are your picks for Aldo vs Mcgregor/ Jones vs AJ/ and for the WSOF lhw tourney? I know Jason thinks McGregor will beat Aldo. I’m not buying into the hype. He fought 1 guy in the top ten and that was Poirier. How many buys do you think UFC 187/ 189 do and which do you think will be a bigger gate? How many viewers do you think Bellator 138 do on Friday June 19th instead of it being on Saturday June 20th? I think it won’t do as much on a Friday, but I know why it was moved. Adrian Broner is gonna fight June 20th on NBCSN that’s why. Sam did you ever try to change Bjorn’s mind about trying to keep Ben Askren? Also what is your best/ fav Bellator moment, fight, and biggest signing you’ve made?

    1. Also what do you guys think of the rumored fight between big prospect Julio Cesar Neves vs Jordan Parsons at 137 part of the main card? Sam did you sign Neves and if so how many fights and for how many yrs was it? I really hope they don’t release him after a couple of loses like they do a lot of their fighters. They don’t even have to lose for Bellator to cut them. Also what do you think of the new Bellator? Do you think it has gotten better or is it worse than before?

      1. Sam do you think the WWE will have over 100k attendance for Wrestlemania in Dallas next yr and break Wrestlemania 3 attendance record 93, 173? What do you think of Triple H vs the Rock at Mania 32 with Stephanie in H’s corner and Rousey in the Rock’s corner?

    2. If Askren was still with Bellator they’d have 4 undefeated fighters as champions.

    What did you guys think of Dana protecting McGregor from Aldo at the press conference?

    Do you think Bellator will ever be bigger than Strikeforce was and do you think they can ever truly compete against the UFC?

    1. That is what a promoter is supposed to do. Fighters do not get paid to fight at a press conference, they get paid to fight in the octagon.

      1. What I meant is obviously he really wants McGregor to win and has been kissing his ass from the beginning. Him and Rousey are his biggest names and he has a lot of other fighters who he favors. A promoter is supposed to be neutral, not bias.

        2. The reason he held McGregor because he has been the aggressor in every staredown. If you can’t see that, not sure what to tell you.

        3. Ok I get it. But do you agree with me that Dana has his favorites that he gives special treatment to?

        5. Like heavily promoted someone instead of promoting them equally. Saying Ronda can beat up most guys and has put a few guys in the hospital. Saying Anderson is GOAT. Giving his biggest names the most money, attention, spotlight, praise, etc. Also he burries fighters when they have bad performances due to an injury or an illness.

  3. Most ppl in the UFC barely make anything. Only the bigger names do. The other mma promotions don’t make nearly as much as the UFC does. That’s not all a lot of other things has to change in MMA too. I hope that happens this yr.
