Ronda Rousey’s next title defense is now official as she will defend the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC 190 on August 1 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The fight booking was made official by UFC President Dana White during a press conference to kickoff the UFC 189 World Tour.
Rousey (11-0) is coming off a 14 second win at UFC 184 last month as she defeated Cat Zingano by armbar submission. Her last two wins have come in a combined 30 seconds and ten of her eleven wins have come in the first round.
Correia (9-0) signed with the UFC in 2013 and has gone 3-0 in the promotion. Her most recent win came in August as she defeated Rousey’s training partner Shayna Baszler at UFC 177.
UFC 190 will come from the HSBC Arena and more details on the event will be announced shortly by the UFC.
