The upcoming WSOF 19 fight card on March 28 in Phoenix has gone through a slight change as Thiago Silva will now meet Matt Hamill in the co-main event of the fight card.
WSOF officials announced the change to MMA Fighting on late Tuesday evening after contract issues with Magalhaes and Titan FC forced the promotion to make changes to upcoming cards.
WSOF 19 will come from the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona and will be headlined by Justin Gaethje defending the lightweight title against Luis Palomino.
Hamill was initially scheduled to make his WSOF debut against Magalhaes in the main event of WSOF 20 on April 10 in Connecticut. With Hamill being moved to the March 28 card, a new main event for the April 10 card is expected to be announced shortly by the promotion. Silva was already booked for the WSOF 19 card as he was scheduled to meet Ronny Markes and according to the report by MMA Fighting, Markes will be moved to a different fight card and will face a new opponent.
When it comes to Magalhaes, he tweeted on late Tuesday evening that he is a WSOF fighter. His last fight came in Titan FC as he defeated Jason Brilz to win the promotions vacant light heavyweight title. As of early Wednesday afternoon, Titan FC officials have not released any comment on the situation involving Magalhaes.
