A heavyweight bout has been booked for UFC 190 in August as Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Soa Palelei will meet in a bout that may end up being part of the five fight main card.
The fight booking was announced on late Friday evening.
UFC 190 will come from the HSBC Arena on August 1st and will be headlined by Ronda Rousey defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Bethe Correia.
Silva (18-7, 1NC) is winless in his last four fights and his last win came at the beginning of 2013 when he won the Knockout of the Night bonus at UFC 156 against Alistair Overeem. His last fight came in February as Frank Mir defeated him in the first round by knockout. Palelei (22-4) has won three of his four fights since coming back to the UFC. He is coming off a TKO win in November against Walt Harris and his last twelve wins have come by TKO/KO.
