UFC on FOX 15 took place this past Saturday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and was headlined by Luke Rockhold submitting Lyoto Machida in the second round.
In the overnight ratings, the main card on FOX came in with 2.43 million viewers and in the finalized numbers, the UFC on FOX 15 had an average audience of 2.7 million viewers.
With the finalized numbers from Saturday’s card, UFC on FOX 15 is up 8 percent on average audience from last year’s comparable performance (UFC on FOX 11). The fight card outdrew the NHL playoff game on NBC between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the NY Rangers by 23 percent on average audience (2.7 million vs. 2.2 million). The UFC on Fox 15 card also powered the network to a first place finish in primetime on Adults 18-49 among the broadcast nets.
Prior to the main card, the televised preliminary card also aired on FOX with four fights and featured Beneil Dariush defeat Jim Miller by unanimous decision. When it came to the average viewership for the prelims, the broadcast had an average of 1.4 million viewers. The last and only other time the televised prelims were on FOX was for UFC on FOX 12 and the viewership for that preliminary card was 1.3 million.
The next UFC on FOX event will take place in July at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and will be headlined by a title rematch as T.J. Dillashaw defends the bantamweight title against Renan Barao.
