A heavyweight bout has been added to the CES MMA 29 fight card in June as Tyler King will meet Greg Rebello and the bout is expected to be placed on the main card.
The fight booking was announced by CES MMA on Wednesday.
CES MMA 29 will come from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island on June 12 and will be headlined by Chuck O’Neil defending the CES MMA welterweight title against Dominique Steele.
King (9-2) is coming off a win at CES MMA 28 in March against Mike Mucitelli and he has won back to back fights. Seven of his nine wins have come by stoppage and four of those wins have come by submission.
“I have the utmost respect for him, but this is a business,” King said. “You’ve got two top-level guys who just love to fight. We both love to scrap. I’m coming in to hurt Greg, and Greg is coming in to hurt me. But after our fight, there’s no way in hell I won’t buy that guy a beer.”
Rebello (17-6) was initially scheduled to meet Mucitelli in March, but he had to pull out of the bout. He has won two of his last three fights and his last win came at CES MMA 26 against J.A. Dudley.
“I’m going to knock him out — it’s pretty simple,” Rebello said. “I’m not going out there to wrestle or grapple him; I’m going to go in there, show him that I’m a striker and that’s going to be it.”
The current CES MMA 29: O’Neil vs. Steele fight card is below.
Chuck O’Neil (15-6) vs. Dominique Steele (12-5)
Matt Bessette (14-6) vs. Lazar Stojadinovic (9-5)
Tyler King (9-2) vs. Greg Rebello (17-6)
