After having three fights in the flyweight division, Brad Pickett is returning to bantamweight in July as he will meet Thomas Almeida at UFC 189.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Monday.
UFC 189 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by a title fight as Jose Aldo defends the featherweight title against Conor McGregor.
Picket (24-10) went 1-2 in the UFC 125 pound division and his last fight at bantamweight came in 2013. He will enter this fight with two straight defeats and he lost a split decision to Chico Camus in his last fight. Almeida (19-0) made his UFC debut last year and has won a fight night bonus in both of those fights. His most recent fight came two weeks ago as he defeated Yves Jabouin by TKO at UFC 186.
