A flyweight bout is slated to take place on the preliminary card of July’s 189 as Neil Seery will meet Louis Smolka.
The fight booking was confirmed by the UFC following a report by The Sun on Friday.
UFC 189 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by a title fight as Jose Aldo defends the featherweight title against Conor McGregor.
Seery (15-10) has won back to back fights after dropping his UFC debut last year. His most recent win came in January as he defeated Chris Beal by unanimous decision. Smolka (8-1) is 2-1 in the UFC and is coming off a performance of the night victory against Richie Vaculik. Seven of his eight wins are by stoppage and four of those wins have come by submission.
