The next tent pole event for Bellator will be taking place in 20 days as Bellator 138 comes from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock.
Along with the fight card, Bellator will be holding several events around the fight card including a Fan Fest at a local Dave & Buster’s that will feature appearances by Fedor Emelianenko, Royce Gracie, and Tito Ortiz.
Along with the fan events, Bellator will be holding a press conference to make multiple announcements. Bellator President Scott Coker talked about this press conference during a video chat on Friday on the social media app Periscope.
“June 19th is going to be some amazing fights,” Coker said. “I think we have something for everybody. We have some fun fights to watch. We have some hardcore fights that fans really want to see. We have tremendous talent from top to bottom and we are going to have some big announcements. We have about three big announcements on the 19th. We are going to have a press conference to announce our next show. Who is fighting and what the show is going to look like. It’s going to be a real big treat. I think we are going to have something fantastic in the fall for all the MMA fans out there.”
What fights could be announced in three weeks? Well, it appears one of those fights will involved recently signed light heavyweight Phil Davis.
“I think that is one of our strongest divisions and we have so much talent in that weight class,” Coker stated. “He just brings another element of depth. We have some big announcements on Phil and who he is fighting. Tune in on June 19 and we will be announcing something big.”
